Ford Recalls F-150 Trucks, Fort Lauderdale Personal Injury Attorney Advises Owners

HOLLYWOOD, FL (AttorneyNewswire.com) — February 23, 2011 — Ford Motor Company has recalled a series of F-150 trucks due to the trucks’ airbag risk. Ford has recalled approximately 144,000 of the trucks. The trucks are being recalled from both Canada and the United States. Ford is recalling F-150′s from both the 2005 and 2006 model years.

Apparently airbag wires in the steering wheels of the trucks have been short circuiting. The short circuiting has been causing the airbags in the trucks to deploy unexpectedly. In most cases, the airbags have been deploying right after the F-150′s were started. The problem stems from a mistake in the assembly of the trucks at Ford’s Norfolk, Virginia plant.
