Racist antics cost trucking firm $11 million

Glasper, of Park Forest, is among dozens of current and former employees represented in a federal racial discrimination lawsuit against their one-time employer, Yellow Transportation Inc., a freight-hauling company that later was folded into what is now YRC Inc. United Continental Sued by Black Pilots Alleging Bias

United Continental Holdings Inc. (UAL) (UAL), the world’s largest airline, was sued for racial discrimination by 22 black pilots who allege the company offers minority employees fewer promotions to upper management than whites. The company’s “highly subjective decision making” about promotions discriminates against minority captains and operations supervisors, according to a complaint filed today in federal court in San Francisco. Workers accuse Capital Grille of racial discrimination

Reuters 7:35 a.m. CST, January 31, 2012 A restaurant workers group said it will sue Darden Restaurants Inc. in federal court in Chicago on Tuesday, accusing the company's high-end Capital Grille steakhouse chain of racial discrimination and violations of state and federal labor laws.
