Illinois attorney crushed to death by own golf cart at Evanston golf course
By Doug Mead, Nov 12 2010

When Skokie, Illinois firefighters received a 911 call about a “down golfer” at the Evanston Country Club, they arrived to find a Kenilworth, Illinois attorney trapped under his own golf cart.

Larry Schad, a personal injury attorney, was crushed to death by his electric golf cart at the course in Skokie, Illinois.

While it is unclear how the event happened, authorities report that a nearby golfer saw Schad trapped underneath the cart and was pleading for help.

In comments made to the Chicago Sun-Times, Skokie Sgt. Michael Krupnik said, “Another golfer first saw a cart, but there wasn’t anyone around it. They came back a few minutes later and saw something under it … a person.”

Schad was removed from underneath the cart, but authorities were unable to revive him. His death was the result of “multiple crushing injuries,” and the death was ruled an accident.
