June 25, 2012|By Naomi Nix | Tribune reporter The mother of a motorcyclist who died in an accident last June filed a lawsuit Monday alleging the city was negligent in its placement of a traffic-control device. The lawsuit filed in Cook County Circuit Court says a sign gave motorists inadequate notice that the southbound lane of Harlem Avenue near the intersection of Myrtle Avenue was closed for construction, contributing to a fatal motorcycle crash. November 29, 2010 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- A settlement was reached with the family of a man who died in a New Year's Eve porch accident in 2007 in Chicago's Lakeview community. Michael Doyle, 25, was at an apartment in the 3100-block of North Clark when he fell through a porch rail while trying to adjust his chair.
