Asda pays compensation to worker injured in slip

Asda has agreed to pay personal injury compensation to a former employee who was badly hurt in an accident in which she slipped on a spillage.

Irene Heslop had worked at the store in Hulme for seven years when the accident occurred in March 2007.

She had been going about her duties in the bakery when she stood on some egg that had not been cleaned up and fell on to the concrete floor.
